聖經常用神之名——亞多乃Adonai

​每一个上帝的称呼都有其独特的意思,希伯来文Adonai(亚多乃)字根的意思是「主人」,中文圣经大多译为「主」。 Adonai 的意思应该是「一切的主」,或「至高的主」(比较申十17;书三11)。Adonai 也可以用作个人的称呼,意思是「我的主」。 圣经中用Adonai这个字来称呼上帝,在旧约中用了449次,其中315次是和耶和华的名一起使用的,说明天上的上帝和地上的人之间的关系,祂要人顺服祂、爱祂、服事祂,显明神作为主人的权柄;至高的统治者神,是有绝对权柄的(比较诗八1;何十二14)。 在创世记十八章中,亚伯拉罕称呼上帝的使者为「我主Adonai」。在亚伯拉罕的时代,奴仆称呼主人为Adonai,妻子称呼丈夫也是如此,当时奴仆和妻子同样没有什么地位的,他们是主人和丈夫用重价买赎回来的。他们原不属于自己。 圣经不但用Adonai来说明我们和上帝之间是主人和仆人的关系,更是丈夫和妻子的关系(赛五十四5;六十二5)。主不但视我们为仆人,更是祂亲爱的妻子,因此我们要尽心、尽力、尽意爱我们的主。如同妻子爱丈夫一般(弗五22~32)。 圣经记载 【创十八1-3】耶和华在幔利橡树那里向亚伯拉罕显现出来。那时正热,亚伯拉罕坐在帐棚门口,举目观看,见有三个人在对面站着。他一见,就从帐棚门口跑去迎接他们,俯伏在地,说:『我主,我若在你眼前蒙恩,求你不要离开仆人往前去。』 【诗八1】耶和华——我们的主啊,祢的名在全地何其美!祢将祢的荣耀彰显于天。 【赛五十四4-5】不要惧怕,因你必不至蒙羞;也不要抱愧,因你必不至受辱。你必忘记幼年的羞愧,不再记念你寡居的羞辱。因为造你的是你的丈夫;万军之耶和华是祂的名。救赎你的是以色列的圣者;祂必称为全地之神。
